Review: Ride 6

RIDE 6 is the latest motorcycle simulation from Milestone S.r.l. and builds upon the solid foundation laid by the previous installments. From the very first moment, it is clear that this game does not focus on fast, arcade-style action, but on the most realistic riding experience possible. That makes RIDE 6 immediately distinctive, but also less accessible to players who just want to race without delving into technique and control.

What immediately stands out while playing is how heavy and precise the engines feel. Every movement has an impact, and the bike's behavior changes depending on speed, lean angle, and how you use the throttle and brakes. While you can get away with aggressive steering or late braking in many racing games, here you are mercilessly punished. That can be frustrating at first, but once you start to master the controls, it feels incredibly satisfying. The game rewards patience and precision, which fits the simulation nature perfectly.

The career mode is clearly better developed than in previous installments and offers a structured way to progress. You start with relatively simple races and gradually work your way up to more difficult competitions and faster bikes. This creates a sense of growth and development, although the pace can sometimes feel a bit slow. However, this actually contributes to the realistic approach of the game, in which you don't just immediately reach the top.
Visually, RIDE 6 makes a strong impression. The bikes are detailed and look lifelike, which is particularly noticeable during replays and close-ups. The circuits are also meticulously recreated and offer variety in environment and atmosphere. The lighting and weather conditions provide extra dynamism, ensuring races never feel exactly the same. The sound also plays an important role in this. The roar of the engines sounds powerful and convincing, truly giving you the feeling that you are sitting on a heavy machine.

However, the game is not without shortcomings. The focus on realism makes RIDE 6 less suitable for a broad audience. New players may quickly drop out due to the steep learning curve and lack of forgiveness. Additionally, in some areas, the game feels like an evolution of previous installments rather than a genuine innovation. Although everything is better and more tightly executed, it lacks truly surprising new elements that would take the series to a completely new level.

Nevertheless, RIDE 6 manages to deliver exactly what fans of the genre are looking for. It is a game that demands time and attention, but gives a lot back in return. Every successful corner and every won race feels earned, which provides a strong sense of satisfaction. It is clear that the developers listened to feedback and tried to make the experience as authentic as possible.
All in all, RIDE 6 is an impressive motorcycle simulation that will particularly appeal to players looking for depth and realism. It is not a game you play casually, but one you really have to invest in. Those who take on that challenge will get one of the most convincing motorcycle experiences currently available.
